The occupants of a red three litre Mazda car sped through a Garda checkpoint in Kinnegad, Co Meath, last Sunday morning after gardai had several times tried to stop the vehicle.
They were believed to have carried out robberies totalling nearly £5,000 in Athlone, Co Westmeath along the Kilbeggan road Rhode, Co Offaly Tyrrellspass, Co Westmeath and Mount Lucas, Co Offaly.
