Gardaí in Dublin have seized two firearms and a quantity of ammunition during a planned search of a house at Greenfort Lawns, Clondalkin this morning.
A sub machine gun and a semi-automatic shotgun were along with approximately 30 shotgun cartridges were found hidden in the rear garden of the house.
All items have been removed for forensic examination.
A grada spokesman said no arrests had been made and investigations are continuing.
The search, which was conducted as part of Operation Anvil, was carried out by Gardai from Ronanstown, assisted by Gardai from Leixlip and Lucan.
