Gardai in Dublin have seized over £10,000 worth of fake Reebok, Fila, Ellesse, Kickers and Calvin Klein clothing in a raid on market stalls in Coles Lane.

This follows raids by gardai in Cork and Dublin before Christmas when other stocks of counterfeit clothing were seized.

Mr John Anderson, of the Irish Anti-Counterfeiting Action Group, said they would continue their fight against the trade in fake products. The group brings together brand owners, local trademark protection organisations and enforcement agencies in a campaign to stamp out fake reproductions, "many of which are dangerous to health and which potentially cost jobs and have an impact on the whole economy".
