Gardaí seize €300,000 worth of drugs in Cork

A 28-year-old Cork man has been arrested following the seizure of 30,000 ecstasy tablets from a car today.

A 28-year-old Cork man has been arrested following the seizure of 30,000 ecstasy tablets from a car today.

Gardaí made the seizure when they stopped and searched the car at Carhoo Upper, Coachford, Co Cork shortly after 4pm.

A substantial amount of cash was also recovered in the raid.

According to a garda spokesman the seizure may have a potential street value of €300,000.

The driver of the car was arrested and is currently detained at Macroom Garda Station under section 2 of The Drug Trafficking Act.
