Gardai last night set up a State wide search for a 13 year old boy who without permission left the National Children's Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin, where he was receiving treatment.

A Garda Press Office spokeswoman said last night that the boy, who speaks with an English accent, is in urgent need of medical attention. She asked the public to report any sightings of him.

The boy is about 5 ft, and wears his fair hair in a long fringe over his face. She said he might be attempting to make his way home to the mid west where his family lives.
