Gardaí name road crash victims

Gardaí have named the victims of road crashes in Dublin, Galway and Kildare.

The man who died when his car hit a pole at 6.15pm on Wednesday on the Naas Road, Baldonnell, Dublin, was named as Jacob Odeyemi (41) of Carrigmore Lawns, Citywest, Dublin.

In Galway the pedestrian who died at Woodstock, Moycullen Road, also on Wednesday, has been named as John Flaherty (59) of Tullyvoheen, Clifden, Co Galway.

Elsewhere, the woman killed while walking in Co Kildare on Monday evening was named as Bridget Byrne (82) of Laureldine, Ballymany, Newbridge, Co Kildare.

She was struck by a van on Monday afternoon at Ballymany.
