Gardaí have named the man whose body was discovered in Togher, County Louth yesterday. He was Lee Conkey, 32 years, of St. Teresa's Gardens, Donore Ave, Dublin.

Gardaí launched a murder inquiry after a post mortem, carried out yesterday by the Deputy State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy, found that he died from stangulation.

The body was found lying face-down in a laneway in Togher, near Drogheda at around 3pm yesterday.

Gardai have appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Drogheda Garda Station or any Garda Station.
