Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Connolly Memorial Hospital tonight as a result of wounds he received in a shooting on Sunday morning.

The 25-year-old man was shot at a house in Fortlawn Park, Blanchardstown.

A man called to the house at 5:30am on Sunday morning and shot his victim in the neck before making his escape on a motorcycle.

The motorcycle was later found on fire at Sheepmore Grove shortly after the shooting.

Gardaí at Blanchardstown have appealed for witnesses to contact them on 01-6667000.
