Gardaí are investigating a robbery in Waterford yesterday afternoon, after a woman was held up near Ardmore.

The incident happened at Grange at about 12 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Three men, who are thought to have been armed or carrying an imitation weapon, forced the woman to stop her car and hand over the takings from the local Ardmore credit union, which she had been going to deposit.

A white four-wheel drive vehicle, reported stolen two weeks ago,  is said to have been used by the robbers to escape.
