Gardaí are investigating the robbery at Ballytruckle post office at Poleberry at 8.20 a.m.

The two armed men, wearing balaclavas, held up the postmistress when she arrived to open the premises.

The woman was tied up but otherwise uninjured during the raid, a Garda statement said.

The men escaped with a large amount of cash. Gardaí have asked anyone with any information or who may have seen two men acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the post office to contact them on 051-305300.
