Gardaí investigate two shootings in one night in Blanchardstown housing estate

A man has been arrested over a shooting in Blanchardstown, Dublin.

A man has been arrested over a shooting in Blanchardstown, Dublin.

The gun attack happened at the door of a house at Fortlawn Park at about 5am yesterday.

A Garda spokesman said the victim suffered minor leg injuries and was being treated in Connolly Hospital.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested a short time later. He is being detained at Clondalkin Garda Station where he can be questioned for up to three days.

Meanwhile, gardaí are also investigating a separate shooting on the same estate earlier in the morning.

A shot was fired through the window of a house at about 2.20am.

The owners were in the house at the time, but no one was injured in the incident.
