Gardaí in Dublin are investigating the shooting of a man in the north inner city.
A Garda spokeswoman said a man was shot at Coburg Place, off Amiens Street, shortly after 7pm. He was taken to the Mater hospital with gunshot wounds to his upper body. The Garda said no further information was available. However, reports said the man was in a serious condition.
In a separate incident, gardaí in Cabra on the north side of the city were investigating reports of shots fired this evening at Annamoe Road, off the New Cabra Road, the Garda spokeswoman said.
Bloodstains were also reportedly found on the street.
