The illegal importation and sale of bangers and fireworks in the north-west, which are classified as highly dangerous, are being investigated by gardai in Donegal. A Garda source confirmed that a substantial quantity of bangers was impounded recently from stalls during the Harvest Fair at Glenties.

Gardai said that these bangers are of very poor quality and extremely dangerous.
