Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 40-year-old man whose body was found at his home in Wicklow Town this morning.

The body of the man, who was found dead at his home at Brooklands, Marlton Road at 9.00 a.m., has been removed to Loughlinstown Hospital.

A post mortem is due to be carried out later today by the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.

Gardai believe the man was involved in a fight, possibly over drugs, outside a pub last night.
