Gardaí are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed thousands of euro worth of vehicles at a truck stop in Tallaght early this morning.

It is understood a security man discovered a number of coaches on fire at about 2 a.m. and called the emergency services.

Four Dublin Fire Brigade trucks fought the fire and managed to bring it under control after two hours.

At least four coaches, two articulated trailers, three cars, three fast-food wagons, one crane, one large mobile generator and 2 trucks were destroyed. There were no injuries

The scene has been preserved for further forensic examination.
