A garda investigation was under way today after a young woman was sexually assaulted in Co Cork.
The woman, who is in her early 20s, told gardai she was attacked in the early hours of today in Youghal.
Gardaí said the alleged attack took place on a beach in the town.
The woman was later treated at the sexual assault unit of Cork University Hospital.
