Gardaí investigate 30 kilo drug find

Gardaí in Meath are investigating the discovery of 30 kilos of drugs by the edge of a lake last night.

Gardaí in Meath are investigating the discovery of 30 kilos of drugs by the edge of a lake last night.

Following a tip-off, gardaí searched the banks of the Mentrim Lakes where they found a the "white powdered substance", believed to be a mixture of amphetamines and cocaine.

The drugs are estimated to have a street value of between €2 and €3m.

The lakes are located 6.5km from Ardee on the Kells to Ardee Road (N52).

No arrests have been made.
