Gardaí found a handgun and three explosive devices during a search near Celbridge, Co Kildare, today.
The operation was carried out in an open area as part of investigations into dissident republicans.
A Defence Forces team was called to the scene and examined the weapon and improvised devices.
No arrests were made, and investigations are ongoing.
