Gardaí have appealed for information about a shooting in Celbridge, Co Kildare.
A 36-year-old Polish national was shot in the leg as he left his home on Oldtown Road at about 11pm on Tuesday.
The injured man was removed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment.
His injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening.
Anyone who was in the Oldtown Road area of Celbridge between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on the night is asked to contact Celbridge Garda station on (01) 601 2370.
