A post mortem examination is due to be carried out today on the body of a pensioner whose death the Garda is treating as suspicious.

The woman, who was in her 80s, was found shortly before noon yesterday in her north Dublin home. Neighbours had raised the alarm when she had not been seen for several days.

Gardaí discovered damage to the rear door of the house on the Navan Road and sealed off the scene for technical examination.
