A Garda squad car that was stolen from a garage in Limerick city last night was found badly damaged several hours later.
The car was stolen from a garage on the Ballysimon Road.
It was later found in O'Malley Park in the Southill area two hours later.
Extensive damage had been caused to the vehicle. A number of windows in the car were broken and damage was done to the underside of the car.
CCTV footage from the garage is being examined in a bid to identify the thieves.
