The challenge by two sergeants to Garda disciplinary procedures was adjourned until October in the High Court yesterday.
Sgt Christopher McCarthy and Sgt John Dennehy, from Finglas Garda station, gave evidence in a 1992 case in which Mr Derek Fairbrother was paid Pounds 375,000 in settlement of a claim against the State for assault.
Both deny they committed any breach of discipline.
