A huge illegal distillery in County Monaghan has been discovered in a joint operation between Gardaí and Customs officials.
The find was made overnight at Killycarnan, near Scotstown. Four thousand litres of a clear alcohol was discovered in a shed. Thousands more litres of unfinished alcohol were also discovered.
Although a number of men were on the premises during the raid no arrests have been made. The Garda said the investigation is ongoing and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
