An application by the Garda Commissioner to lift an order preventing him bringing home a Cyprus based garda was adjourned until October 7th by Mr Justice Kelly in the High Court yesterday. The move to repatriate Garda Michael Fitzpatrick followed an alleged remark to the Minister for Defence, Mr Barrett, at a drinks reception in Cyprus last March. Garda Fitzpatrick was granted an injunction restraining the Commissioner from returning him to his station in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan. The Commissioner is seeking to have the injunction altered or discharged.
