The Garda Ombudsman Commission today made a fresh appeal for witnesses to a fatal crash that killed a woman (77) last  Friday.

Clare Barr, who lived on the Navan Road, died after she was knocked down by a car driven by an off-duty garda on the Navan Road, Dublin 7, at about 2pm.

The incident happened on the Dublin-bound carriageway of the road near the Ashtown roundabout. A dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf was involved.
