Gardai have appealed for witnesses to a hit-and-run road traffic accident in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, in which a pedestrian was killed. Mr Sean Murphy (38), from Ballyorrill, Enniscorthy, died after he was struck by two cars at Moyne on the Dublin-Rosslare road at 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

The second car left the scene immediately after the accident. Gardai do not have a description of the vehicle.

The scene of the accident was examined yesterday by members of the Garda Technical Bureau in an effort to identify the type of car involved. Anybody with information can contact Enniscorthy Garda station, tel: 054-33534.
