Gardai investigating a series of so called punishment beatings in Dundalk have appealed for information

Gardai investigating a series of so called punishment beatings in Dundalk have appealed for information. Four men have been attacked in the last two weeks, two within 24 hours.

On Saturday at 11 p.m., a 30 year old man was in his home in Glenmore Park, Muirhevnamore, when two masked men carrying an iron bar and a hatchet beat him up.

On Thursday at 10 p.m., a 21 year old man was attacked by three masked men who entered a house in Ashling Park, Coxes Demense. They were carrying a sledgehammer and a handgun and are understood to have threatened members of his family.

Gardai are also investigating similar attacks on two men in Muirhevnamore earlier this month.
