Garda in Galway expect that it will take at least 12 months before anyone will face charges in relation to the fatal stabbing of a 22-year old man in the city two years ago.

Garda and the Department of Justice are currently in a lengthy extradition process with the Justice Department in the United States, so that a US national can face charges.

Mr O'Shaughnessy, from Innishannagh Park, Galway, was stabbed at William Street West in the early hours of August 1st, 1998.
