Galway man (75) tied up and beaten by raiders

A 75-year-old man was attacked and tied up at his home in Ballygar in Galway shortly before 10pm yesterday.

A 75-year-old man was attacked and tied up at his home in Ballygar in Galway shortly before 10pm yesterday.

Two men and a woman broke into the house and tied up the man before ransacking his home and escaping with money.

The man managed to free himself and raise the alarm at a neighbour's house. He was taken to Roscommon County Hospital where he is being treated.
