A FUND raising drive for a baby girl born without limbs has raised nearly £500,000 following a celebrity auction on a local radio station yesterday. Joanne O'Riordan, who will be one next week, will be fitted with robotic arms shortly at the Rehabilitation Centre in Dun Laoghaire. Total amelia, the medical term for not having arms and legs, is a rare condition. Joanne's mother, Mrs Ann O'Riordan, said they had heard of just one other case in Ireland, a man born over 100 years ago.
