A sign outside the Regional Technical College in Dun Laoghaire which announces that a building extension is being funded by the Minister for Education and the EU is not exceptional, a spokesman for the Minister, Ms Breathnach, who is also the local TD, said yesterday.
However, Fianna Fail sources insisted that it was unprecedented for a Minister to attempt to claim personal credit for a building project assisted by a Department.
The Department spokesman said that Ms Breathnach's name is not used in the hoarding, which lists the architects and other professionals involved.
