KAMPALA - Christian fundamentalist rebels killed 21 people and kidnapped 52 in an attack on an army escorted convoy of buses and other vehicles in northern Uganda on Saturday, the military said yesterday.

The rebels, led by Christian fundamentalists who say they want to rule Uganda according to the Bible's ten commandments, have been fighting President Yoweri Museveni's government since 1987.
