Fujimori to stay until July

Lima - President Alberto Fujimori of Peru, stung by a bribery scandal, yesterday announced he would hand over power in July 2001 and then run for a fourth term in office five years later, Michael McCaughan reports. He said he would hand office to a successor chosen in elections to be held "as soon as possible".
