Two food outlets were closed down by the Food Safety Authority (FSA) in June for breaching food safety regulations.

Closure Orders were served on the Shamrock Inn Hotel, Main Street, Lahinch, Co Clare and on Bu-Ali takeaway (Golden Meats Ltd), 28 Clanbrassil Street, Dublin 8. Closure Orders are served when it is deemed that there is, or there is likely to be, a grave and immediate danger to public health at or in the premises.

Commenting on the Closure Orders served this month, FSA chief Dr John O'Brien urged continued vigilance by the food industry on food safety standards is vital to protect consumer health.

Details of the food businesses served with these orders are published on the FSAI's website and will remain listed there for a three months.
