French police opened a murder investigation today after officers found a severed leg and three bodies in the city of Nantes.

French police opened a murder investigation today after officers found a severed leg and three bodies in the city of Nantes.

Police are investigating the disappearance of a family - two parents and their four children - since April 4th in the western French city. The remains of the leg were found in the house garden.

The investigation will now focus on "confinement and homicide" according to Nantes' prosecutor Xavier Ronsin.

The parents recently told a school their children were being removed due to a sudden move to Australia, the BBC reported..
