Paris - The Republican presidential candidate, Mr George W. Bush, the Texas governor, is guilty of "legalised murder", Mr Jack Lang, president of the French parliament's foreign affairs committee, said yesterday.
"I hope I never have to shake the hand of Mr Bush Jr, the governor of Texas, because I regard him as the perpetrator of legalised murders," Mr Lang told French television. "He condemns to the gallows innocent men who did not have the means to defend themselves," said Mr Lang, who last month sought mercy for Odell Barnes, a black American who was executed.
