A man who harassed a pregnant garda has been sentenced to four years with one suspended.

A man who harassed a pregnant garda has been sentenced to four years with one suspended.

Mark Lawlor (27), Ballymun, repeatedly tried to contact Garda Sgt Noleen McKenna and threatened her by quoting the names of well-known criminals. One time he said he would shoot her if he had a gun.

Lawlor, who has paranoid schizophrenia and bipolar depression, pleaded guilty to harassment between August 18th and October 6th, 2008.

He has 49 previous convictions and was serving a sentence in Mountjoy.
