Four men have been remanded in custody in relation to the seizure of €2 million worth of heroin which was discovered in a house in Co Kildare last week.

Ian Demon (24), of Deansrath Avenue, Clondalkin; Keith Browne (34) of 13 Deanstown Road, Finglas; Alan Cleary (33) of Foxdean Green, Clondalkin and Michael Moran, of Mylerstown, Robertstown, Co Kildare, all appeared at a special sitting of Naas District Court this morning.

The first three defendants were charged with possession of heroin while Mr Moran was charged with allowing the preparation of a controlled drug on his property.

They will appear again at Cloverhill District Court next Friday.

A fifth man arrested in connection with the seizure was released without charge.
