Four PSNI officers were injured during clashes in east Belfast last night.

Four PSNI officers were injured during clashes in east Belfast last night.

Loyalist and nationalist youths clashed in the Templemore Avenue and Lower Newtownards Road areas of the city last night.

According to the PSNI, missiles, including fireworks, were thrown at police, and damage was caused to a number of houses at St Matthew's Court and at least one police vehicle.

Officers set up a road block in the area shortly before 10pm, and the area was reported to have calmed by 11pm.

A male in his late-teens was arrested and later released.
