Peterlee - A GP and three nursing home staff members appeared in court yesterday charged with the unlawful killing of a pensioner at a nursing home.
Dr Jane Gustafsson (46), a GP from Seaham, in Co Durham, and nursing home staff members Ms Maureen Usher (65), Ms Vicky Haswell (24) and Ms Michelle Wilson (35), were charged after a monthlong investigation into the death of a former miner, Mr William Brettwood (77), in Sunderland Royal Hospital in April last year.
