Three men and a woman, aged in their 20s and 30s, were detained this morning by gardaí in Cork city and east Cork. They are being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Cobh and Middleton Garda Stations.

On the morning of August 5th, two men with a shotgun and a sledge hammer threatened staff making a cash delivery at a bank at Hazelwood shopping centre in Glanmire. Following a struggle with staff both men fled empty handed.

The suspects escaped in a car that was later found on fire near Windsor Hill, Glounthaune.
