Four men from a north Dublin family were charged in relation to an incident in which two gardai received shotgun injuries at an apartment last week.

One of the men is also facing a charge of having a firearm for an unlawful purpose on January 11th at the Tower Inn pub in Finglas.

Mr David Thomas (30), with an address given as North Brunswick Street, Dublin, was charged with the unlawful possession of a shotgun at both the Tower Inn, Finglas and at North Brunswick Street, where gardai were injured. He is also charged injuring Det Garda Fergal Patwell.

Mr Richard Thomas (snr) 53, his son, also Richard (33), and Mr Patrick Thomas (32), were also charged with unlawfully possessing a shotgun contrary to the Firearms Act.
