GARDAI last night ruled out foul play in the death of a retired Kerry farmer after a post mortem showed he had died from natural causes.a The post mortem was carried out after a neighbour found Mr Tom Moynihan (75) in the kitchen of his farmhouse at Killelton, Camp, near Tralee, on Saturday.

Mr Moynihan, who lived alone, was found with a cut on his hand and traces of blood while kitchen chairs were overturned. Gardai thought he might have been assaulted.

The State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, last night at Tralee General Hospital found Mr Moynihan had died from natural causes. It is believed he collapsed, cut himself and knocked over chairs as he fell. Gardai believe he may have been dead for several days.
