Former salesman accused of theft

A former salesman from Derry appeared before Derry Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with stealing £1

A former salesman from Derry appeared before Derry Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with stealing £1.4 million from St Brendan's Irish Cream Liqueur Company. Mr Kevin Joseph Mullan (47), of Glenshane Road, Drumahoe, is also charged with possessing three stolen St Brendan's cheques; possessing six false Republic of Ireland driving licences with intent; and possessing an envelope bearing three names and an invoice for St Brendan's Irish Cream Liqueur.

Mr Mullan, who denies the charges, is alleged to have committed the offences between January 1st and August 31st, 1997. He was remanded in custody for a week.
