CANNABIS:A former garda has been sent forward for trial charged with stealing cannabis from a Garda station and perverting the course of justice.
Stephen Cooper (28), The Green, Kingswood Heights, Tallaght, Dublin, is charged with making false statements implicating another in the theft of a vehicle and, as a result, perverting the course of justice.
He is charged with deception in making a false insurance claim arising out of an incident on September 15th, 2010. He is also charged with stealing cannabis herb worth €560 from Sundrive Garda station and possession of cocaine for sale or supply at Ormond Quay.
The trial, which is expected to last up to five weeks, is listed to begin on January 13th, 2014, at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
