Moscow - Nearly 92,600 acres of forest are ablaze in the north-west Russia republic of Komi. Some 2,000 emergency personnel and 188 vehicles have been sent to the area to fight the flames. Komi is one of Russia's largest oil-producing regions and several pipelines are under threat from the fires.
