Three businesses have been handed closure orders by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) during the month of May.

Food Revolution Restaurant on Moore Street, Aya Corporation Ltd on 34 Lower Erne Street, both in Dublin, and Giovannis Fast Food on Pearse Street in Clonakilty, Co Cork, were served with the orders.

Closure Orders are served when an inspector deems there is, or is likely to be, a grave and immediate danger to public health.

De Mussel Man Food Stall at Ardnagashel, Bantry, Co Cork, was served with a prohibition order.

A prohibition order is issued if the activities (handling, processing, disposal, manufacturing, storage, distribution or selling of food) involve, or are likely to involve, a serious risk to public health from a particular product, class, batch or item of food.

The order prohibits the sale of the product, either temporarily or permanently, until the risk to public health has been removed.
