Parts of a Co Antrim village were under water today after a river swollen by heavy rain overflowed its banks.

Police said flood waters were waste high in Rasharkin on the River Agivey and a number of cars were stranded.

The area around Bridge Street was worst hit, and the road was closed to traffic.

Police warned motorists across the province to take care, saying surface water was making driving conditions dangerous.
