The bodies of five young people who died in the Stardust fire 26 years ago will be exhumed today.

The bodies of five young people who died in the Stardust fire 26 years ago will be exhumed today.

The remains of the five victims who were never identified and were buried together will be brought to the Dublin City Morgue for DNA samples.

The DNA will be sent to the United Kingdom for further analysis in a bid to identify them. The overall process is likely to take about two months.

Forty-eight young people died in the St Valentine's night disco fire on Friday, February 13th, 1981, at the Artane nightclub.
