Five injured by air rifle gang

Five people were injured in Tallaght, Co Dublin, early on Saturday morning in a series of air rifle shootings.

The attacks started shortly before 2 a.m. when a couple walking down the main street in Tallaght village were shot. The man was struck in the arm with air rifle pellets and the woman was hit in the back, according to gardai. Another couple was attacked about an hour later in the same area.

Shots were fired at a petrol station in the area and later a fifth man was also slightly injured. He told gardai he saw four or five men running away.
